Why does Muslim League-N need the help of small political parties?
On December 6, Wednesday, when PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif arrived in Lahore for a meeting with PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after almost 14 years, several questions emerged on the political canvas.
On Mian Nawaz Sharif's return from London in October, his party prepared for a nationwide welcome with the slogan that the people saw him as the 'last hope'.
This gave birth to the idea that Mian Nawaz Sharif will bring back the angry and disappointed workers of PML-N, and will also infuse new life into the voters.
Thus he was welcomed by a large public gathering. But then gradually it came to be seen that Mian Nawaz Sharif and his party are interested in making electoral alliances, manipulations and seat adjustments with smaller parties in Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab
It should be noted that before the elections, political manipulation, alliance with small and big political parties and seat adjustment are part of the strategy of political parties, but PML-N has not had such a tradition.
The idea that Mian Nawaz Sharif will come back and breathe new life into the voters of PML-N and create such an electoral environment to prove that PML-N is the most popular party in the country, has not proved to be so true. This has raised many concerns and questions.
The main question is that in such an environment where its main rival Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan is in jail and his party is under scrutiny, is the PML-N still nervous, or this time the party has won the voters. and Nawaz Sharif have changed their strategy to fill the gap created between them
While do big political parties need small political parties?
While Mian Nawaz Sharif's party gave place to Balochistan father and electables of other parties, it allied with MQM, GDA and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in the politics of Sindh.
Similarly, he extended his hand to the Muslim League-Q by welcoming the electables at the Punjab level. Apart from this, seat adjustments are common in some constituencies in the Muslim League-N and the Stability Pakistan Party.
According to media reports, consensus has been reached on seat adjustment in two national and three provincial seats in Muslim League-N and Q-League.
If the facts on the ground are seen, the PML-N has a strong feeling of getting relief. This relief has given Mian Nawaz Sharif the perception of the new ladle of the establishment.
PML-N is openly campaigning but its biggest rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf is facing a crackdown. On the other hand, many leaders including Mian Nawaz Sharif have also got relief at the judicial level.
Despite all kinds of relief and favorable environment, why is the Muslim League-N preparing to join the small political parties and enter the election field?
PML-N claims that it is the most popular party in Punjab, then why is it forced to unite with QL? On this, political analyst Hasan Askari Rizvi says, 'The Muslim League-N believes that understanding with different parties is more important.
"The QL is divided and Chaudhry Shujaat has also been a part of the PDM. That is why they were met. However, there is no denying the aspect that the real challenge for Muslim League-N is Punjab and the real threat is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Sohail Waraich, a senior analyst and expert on electoral affairs, says that the Muslim League-N's wisdom at this time is to unite as many people as possible. Like the Baloch from Balochistan.'
He believes that this is 'a good and excellent policy.'
However, political analyst Professor Farooq Hasnat's position is different. He says that Nawaz Sharif thought that he would get a response from all sides if he returned to the country. But it could not happen. At present, Chaudhry Shujaat and his party have no position in the politics of Punjab.
'The one or two seats that they have, they are weak on them at the moment. The establishment is asking Mian Nawaz Sharif to involve as many people and parties as possible
